As the creative lead for Aurora’s flagship annual publication, I oversee the full project lifecycle for this 50+ page guide with a distribution of over 150,000 copies.
This project requires a balance of high-level art direction and meticulous production management, ensuring the visual narrative captures the vibrant spirit of the destination while meeting complex editorial and advertising requirements.
Scope of Work
Creative Direction: Spearheaded the overarching visual strategy and conceptual layout for three consecutive editions, evolving the brand’s aesthetic year-over-year.
Production Management: Directed the entire lifecycle from initial pagination and ad-space mapping to final file preparation and vendor production handoffs.
Content Strategy: Planned and executed all custom photo and video shoots to build a high-impact asset library specifically for the guide’s editorial features.
Team Leadership: Managed the transition from a solo design endeavor (2024) to leading and directing a Junior Designer for the 2025 and 2026 editions.
Collaboration: Partnered closely with the marketing and editorial teams to synthesize complex content into engaging, readable, and visually sophisticated layouts.
I managed every aspect of the design process, from conceptualization to final production for this guide. This involved crafting the visual theme, designing page layouts, and overseeing the creative direction of photoshoots.
Collaborating closely with writers and editors, I ensured seamless integration of visual and written content to deliver a polished magazine that embodies the brand's identity and my creative vision.
I also designed multiple advertisements throughout the guide. Clients include: Dry Dock Brewing Company, The Benson Hotel and Faculty Club, Must-Visits on Havana Street, Gina’s Kitchen, Winter Park and Argo Mills.
